What happens when artificial intelligence steps into the therapist’s chair? AI is constantly evolving and has become more humanlike than ever before. Some people are turning to language model AI tools like ChatGPT, while others use mental health chatbots specifically developed by therapists for this purpose. But the big question remains: Can a machine truly understand human pain, trauma, and help us heal?
In this project, we explore AI’s growing role in the world of psychotherapy. Will it make therapy more accessible, affordable, and free from stigma? What potential risks does it carry? And is it really worth it?
